Enables those that suffer from any form of back pain to come in and see a Consultant for an opinion, have an MRI scan and leave with a treatment pathway as to how their condition should be treated. Once you leave we will try to help you source the most appropriate treatment.
The Consultant will sit down with you and discuss your background and your history in general as well as that relating to your back pain. They will generally undertake an examination and try to determine possible causes. They may request a diagnostic test, usually MRI, to try to confirm or eliminate possible causes. You have the diagnostic test during your visit. The diagnostic tests are analysed by a Specialist Consultant Radiologist who writes a report based upon the MRI results. You go back in to see your Consultant who will take his findings from the history and examination, the MRI images, the MRI report and your personal circumstances. They will discuss the report with you, show you the images that this is based upon and will discuss your bespoke treatment pathway. This may be - do nothing, conservative treatment such as physiotherapy, onward referral to another specialist, surgery or other treatment. You take home – Images of your scan, report relating to your scan and a report from your consultant as to the recommended treatment pathway.
